Common Mistakes to Avoid When Framing Your Bathroom Mirror

Designing the perfect bathroom involves paying attention to every small detail, including the framing of your bathroom mirror. A well-framed mirror can add a touch of elegance and character to your bathroom, but it's essential to avoid common mistakes that can detract from its overall impact. In this article, we will explore some of the most common mistakes made when framing bathroom mirrors and provide useful tips to ensure you create a polished and stylish look that enhances your bathroom's aesthetics.

Choosing the wrong frame material

Most people will go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and pick out wood trim to adhere to their mirrors. If not properly treated, the food frame will be exposed to a very humid and damp environment day after day. Our frame material is covered in moisture-resistant wraps, protecting the frame from such a humid atmosphere.

Measuring incorrectly

One of the most important steps is to measure your mirror correctly. You may think you only need to measure the mirror itself, but what if there are clips holding the mirror up? Will you see the clips when the frame is on? What if the mirror is in between 2 walls? Our expert installers know exactly how to measure to ensure a perfect fit, precisely aligned with the end of a countertop backsplash, tall enough to cover mirror clips, and taking into consideration adjacent shower sills, outlets, switches, and medicine cabinets.

Taking the mirror off the wall

This is SO risky! Mirrors are super heavy and can easily break in one wrong move. Adding a frame to a mirror and then rehanging it adds even more to its weight plus you have to make sure it’s level before you hang it. When we install our frames, there’s no need to remove your mirrors. We simply adhere a beautiful frame to your existing mirror.

Trying to handle extra long frames by yourself

You may have seen DIY frame kit companies and and want to install your own frames. We don’t blame you, they are great! But when it comes to exceptionally long mirrors, it can get quite expensive to order a frame in. We offer assembly and installation of the same frames, no matter what size. You may decide for a slightly extra charge, that it’s worth it to have us handle the whole project instead!
